Books, motherhood, kid questions and the kind of reading magic that makes children feel like they are part of the story.
We found Amy. And immediately wanted to know more.
You know when someone isn't just creating something for kids, but is actively trying to make the whole experience of discovering books more fun?
That's Amy Doslich.
Amy is a mom, children's author and creator who has built her corner of the internet around books, family and helping children connect with the people behind the stories they read.
Her work goes beyond simply putting books out into the world. Through her Kids Ask Authors Answer project, children can read, submit their own questions and actually see authors answer them.
And we love that. Because getting kids excited about reading doesn't have to mean making it feel like homework. Sometimes it just means letting them ask the weird, wonderful questions they actually want to ask. ๐
Because some mom creators give you parenting tips. Some make you laugh. And some quietly create things that make family life a little more curious, connected and fun.
Amy isn't stopping at "here's a book." Her Kids Ask Authors Answer project gives children a chance to participate, ask questions and see the author behind the story.
Children get to ask the questions. They get featured in the experience. And suddenly reading becomes something they can actively participate in instead of simply something they are told to do.
Amy's work connects families, readers and children's authors, while also shining a light on other creators and free literacy resources. That's the kind of internet corner we like.
โA place where kids can ask authors ANYTHING.โAmy Doslich ๐
Basically, a little corner of the internet where books become conversations and kids get to be part of the experience.
Stories created with families and young readers in mind, including Amy's Hannah Banana and Mary Berry series.
Interactive author conversations where children can submit questions and hear authors answer them directly.
Read-alongs, author interviews, kid challenges and activities designed to make discovering books more engaging.
A look behind the scenes at the person creating the stories, building the community and making space for families to connect with books.
If your kids love asking approximately 700 questions before breakfast, there is a pretty good chance they'll enjoy seeing what happens when those questions get put to authors. ๐ Amy's corner of the internet is all about books, curiosity and making reading feel like something kids can participate in.
